National Apprenticeship Week 2021

In last week’s Job Club, year 2 students on The Autism Project (TAP) were celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2021 (8th -14th February).

Students learnt what an apprenticeship is, what levels of apprenticeship are available, and the areas you can chose to do an apprenticeship in.

Students worked together using an online virtual whiteboard to think about the different types of industries you might be able to do an apprenticeship in.

Students were surprised to find out that you can do an apprenticeship in almost anything!

Students then looked at some of the different apprenticeships that had been released on the Government apprenticeship site (https://www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship) and worked with staff to identify suitable opportunities for them.

Staff and students also discussed the ‘Disability Confident’ logo, which they could look out for on job and apprenticeship adverts.
